My Edge braided stuff.

All these are the 1to 7 edge braid.

Much of my success with this is by practicing with cheap leather and getting a good feel on the process involved. Which way to turn the chisel cuts as to which way to turn and run the lace. One side of this particular braid will hang lower than the other side. The side that shows the most of the bights is what you're looking for. The rest will come into alignment once that is figured out.
